Ocean Concrete
Ocean Concrete is the oldest and largest tenant on Granville Island. Ocean's presence on the Island was established in 1917 and the current lease
expires in 2046. The Granville Island plant is a past winner of NRMCA’s Environmental Excellence Award. Awards are judged on numerous criteria. All process water is captured and 100% of it is reclaimed in concrete. Excess storm water is captured, settled, monitored for Ph and automatically treated with CO2 if/when required, prior to discharge to sanitary sewer.
The goal of Granville Island is to maintain a mixed-use look and feel of “live, work, shop, play and learn”. Ocean provides the industrial component of this mix. Ocean is proud to be a part of this dynamic community and expends much time and effort at being a good neighbor with annual public Open Houses; themed ready mix trucks; support of the Arts and many other community involvements.
